“She cooks up a storm”The Scotsman

British-Canadian artist, Bryony Byrne makes and performs live art. She’s interested in community and the act of performance. She’s got a background in longform improv and clown and her debut comedy feature film, Akela, has won multiple awards internationally. She has trained with Second City, Bryony Kimmings, the Free Association and Philippe Gaulier. She’s performed sold out shows at Soho Theatre in London, Pleasance Islington and The National Football Museum in Manchester, amongst others. She is one of the founders of the Shit Show cabaret in Marseille and performs regularly in the city. In addition to live performance, her writing has featured in British Vogue, Aesthetica Magazine and the literary magazine, Ghost Parachute.
When she was ten, her football team won the District championships and she played the recorder on stage at the Royal Albert Hall. It's possible she peaked at ten to be honest.

	Fan/Girl

It's 1998. Geri Halliwell is leaving the Spice Girls, David Beckham is wearing a sarong and somewhere in England a 10-year-old girl is pretending to be Eric Cantona. Absurd, optimistic and joyful, Fan/Girl is a tongue-in-cheek ride through adolescence against a backdrop of nineties football. Award-winning comedian Bryony Byrne's debut show, directed by Ben Target. Expect playful audience inteaction, 90s bangers, stupid comedy and drag.

Video of the show available on demand, please contact me.

“A playful, surprising and very timely show.” British Comedy Guide’s Recommended Shows 2022

“ Joyously ramshackle, spirit-of-the-Fringe stuff.” **** The Daily Telegraph

“Loved this show! So much 90s nostalgia and really perfect illustration of what it’s like to be a girl becoming a teenager. A beautiful emotional heart that was unexpected and glorious. See it!” Audience member.
“Quickly elevated itself beyond simply a football show. Some of the most fun audience participation I’ve seen at a show, making the audience feel like we’re all in on the same party.” Audience member.

Outside In Arts Festival was Poplar Union’s debut digital arts festival showcasing the work of 18 commissioned artists including musicians, theatre makers, writers and dancers.

I made a piece called Other Animals, which offers a whimsical portrayal of the place I spent lockdown in and those who shared that environment with me.
